BUG: Cannot save data in "My Aquaria" box.

Post by Deb »

While (or "whilst" as Mats would say) trying to save data to "My Aquaria" the following message was received:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Out of range value adjusted for column 'parent_id' at row 1 [1264]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

The problem occurred in the "Furniture" box. My data is not too long. Several tries were made to no avail! ~X( Not really at wit's end, but it would be nice if I could save my changes.

Reproduced!

Something for Jools to fix, I'm afraid.

Yet the information I typed in the "Furniture" box appeared after I logged out and then back in, so something was saved. Some connection is being made even though the Fatal Error message is still being returned. The information is truncated for the non-edit version, that is the version others would see if they looked at "The aquaria of Deb." I hope this is making sense.

On a similar note, I deleted from "My Cats" a species I no longer keep, noting the reason it didn't do well. My note appears in the cat-eLog entry of the species. What do I have to do to re-word what I wrote?

Re "My Cats":
If you actually DELETED it, it shouldn't be available to see.

I will check myself (I have a species I can remove).

If you "stop keeping" (which is really what should be used if you have kept the fish and it died, you sold it, etc). Delete should be used only when you accidentally add a species that you don't keep (or something like that).

Sorry! I did "stop keeping" and that's what I clicked. I used the word "delete" in error, above.

So, I stopped keeping them, and I made a note about why. Now, I'd like to amend the note. Is it too late?

Nope, if you go to "my cats", there's a selection of filters at the top, one of which is "show no longer kept species" (or some such). Now you should see all species you've ever kept, and you can edit them.
