Login Issues

Post by Martin S »

I was on Faceboook the other day, and clicked a link Jools added for one of his aquaria - it opened PC, but when I tried to log in to see the content, I got a message about having exceeded the maximum number of logins, even though I only had tried once. I left it, until now - have just re-installed Tapatalk on my iPhone and when I try to log in, I get the same error!
Any ideas?

That is very interesting; I need to do some research. Tapatalk is not the issue, it's coincidence. Will report back.

Thanks. I didn't think it was related to tapatalk, just odd that I got the same message in both facebook and tapatalk. I'm replying using safari on my iphone with no problems.

It wouldn't have anything to do with me having a space in my name, would it?
Just a thought...

Nope. It's just something trying to hit and pass your login screen five times or more.

OK, so assuming this isn't caused by a hacking attempt, this is something that the forum doesn't recognise as a legit bot hitting the forum enough times to cause this. Either that or it's a cookie thing related to the recent upgrade. Not a great answer, but I will move this over to resolved but PLEASE DO report continued issues of this kind after a week or so?

Cheers,

Hi Jools
I still can't get in via tapatalk, and so will have to continue to use the site on safari when browsing on my phone. The message also mentions filling in a CAPTCHA box below...but there isn't one.
Thanks for looking anyway.

Hi Martin,

OK, I misunderstood what you were saying. Suggest log a support request with tapatalk.

I get the same problem when trying to log in to PC from Facebook too, so don't think it's related to just tapatalk.
Think I'll stick to using it how I have been, it works that way!

When you say "trying to log into PC from Facebook", what exactly is it you're doing? Could you post a screenshot?

OK, here's the scenario:
The post you made the other weekend about your display tank - I asked the dimensions and you added a link to your 'My Aquaria'. On the iPhone, if you click a link, it opens it in another 'page' of Facebook. The page it lands on tells me I need to be logged in to see your Aquaria:
NotLoggedIn.PNG
NotLoggedIn.PNG (66.81 KiB) Viewed 1273 times
I click Login in the top right corner, and I get the usual login screen, I enter my details and get this:
LoginFailed.PNG
LoginFailed.PNG (65.67 KiB) Viewed 1273 times
Does this help?

So, if you enter the captcha thingy, does it work?

I think you only need to do the captcha thing once, and after that it will accept just your password as usual.

Well I'll be! It only went and worked! :ymblushing:
I type the captcha code in on the FB link, and it worked fine logging in via tapatalk. I know i tried to enter the captcha before, I must have just typed it wrong.
thanks Mats, and sorry to waste your time, Jools.
