L046 Sexing Help Again
Hi guys caught my 4 aldult zebs today and I am 100% on two of them being male, I was sure I had one female too and one that I am not sure about :/
I only have an iPhone for pics which isn't the best but is there any chance some of you can download the pics I have taken via my link http://zebrapleco.net/zebs.zip and give me some advice on the other two and if you think there is indeed any females :/
It is a 4.31mb zip file with 45 pics that I hope will help me confirm the sex at last
Thank you for all the help
Rob

Re: L046 Sexing Help Again
Given the headshape, I'd agree with the above.

Re: L046 Sexing Help Again
The first thing I look at is the head where it attaches to the body. If it's narrower than the width of the body, it's likely female. Then look at the body-shape ann other signs (hairy fins, hairy "back part") to see if it's matching your prediction from the headshape. It's quite clear in the picture you posted two posts back from this one - males have head that is slightly wider than the body, fmeales narrower than the body.
I'm a bit confused as to the second lot of pictures, is that the same two fish in all pictures? If so, I think both females.
And yes, I know the feeling of "I've looked at them so many times, and changed my mind several times over". Best way of all is to wait for them to breed (and you certainly have females in your group)... Females lay eggs, males don't! ;)

Re: L046 Sexing Help Again
I did think they looked pretty similar - just checking to see if I needed to tell if they were different or not. I'm pretty sure the latter two fish are females, and the group of four in the post previous to that is 2m/2f.
As a responder to these type of posts, I find it very helpful when the different individual fish are named/numbered so that it's clear whether it is one fish with several photos or different fish in each photo (or some combination thereof).
