Mystus armatus Distribution
The distribution field of this species currently includes Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Following "A New Species of Mystus from Myanmar (Siluriformes: Bagridae)", Heok Hee Ng and Maurice Kottelat, the species found resembling M.armatus collected from Mynamar is most likely M.cineraceus.
Following "Mystus ngasep, a new catfish species (Teleostei: Bagridae) from the headwaters of Chindwin drainage in Manipur, India", A. Darshan et all it is most likely M.rufescens.
Either ways, this would restrict the distribution of this species to Peninsular India (although I don't have references saying this species is not found in Bangladesh).

Major: Now what's this... stone, stone, stone, (looks down at his hand) and scissors. Now. Scissors cut everything, don't they?
Sergeant: Not stone, sir.
Major: They're very good scissors!!

Re: Mystus armatus Distribution
As you know I think armatus is a junior synonym of oculatus but yes I would agree that the distribution should be restricted, especially with dibrugarensis being a different species as well.

Re: Mystus armatus Distribution
This is a good example of where we should show our workings. So, the catelog should be updated with the revised, lesser range of the species, BUT, it should be noted how we got to that position.
Howe about whacking something in as a data submission and I will edit if necessary?

Yup. Mystus bleekeri is the only species left to deal with (distribution wise) now I guess.The.Dark.One wrote:As you know I think armatus is a junior synonym of oculatus but yes I would agree that the distribution should be restricted, especially with dibrugarensis being a different species as well.
