Will cories eat java moss?

Post by sammich »

I added some java moss to my cory tank recently. My cories don't seem to mind it, but my Metae cories always seem as if they're nibbling it. Are my cories eating the java moss?

Also, when will cories be old enough to spawn?

They're probably getting at the food stuck in there. I've never seen a catfish that would eat java moss.

I have never seen any fish successfully eat Java Moss. I like to use it for a spawning site. The cories will clean it to remove food and micro-organism. My C. pandas seem to prefer to hide thier eggs in clump of Jave Moss. I have been moving them like spawn mops. If the tank have flourescent lights, I think Java Moss helps keep the ammonia level down in fry tanks.

I would say that the Cory;s are just grasing through the moss looking for particles of food.
