New to Catfish Breeding

Post by renwickgjai »

The title says it all. My family has decided to breed catfish as a business and I am totally new to this. I need to learn a lot of things and this forum can be my guide.

Hello,

welcome to planet cat fish. I wish you luck in your new business. Try looking up the numbers you wish to breed in the data base or searching for the number / names in the correct forums. Its under the cat-elog button above many have information about breeding and max size so you pick cat fish that can grow fully in your tanks and live healthy.

Please remember to be patient with your cat fish as often what you can buy is not adult or large enough to determine sex easily.

Bog wood and clay pots slighter larger than the cat fish always go down well with cat fish(they like somewhere to hide and they love munching on bog wood).

Hi,

Are you sure to have your business case closed?
In my experience the challenge is not so much to breed the fish, but to sell the offspring with at least a (very) small profit!

Cheers,
Sandor
