You need to post tank size and decor arrangements etc. Might be easiest if you post a few pics of the tank.

As Jools says....

Plus you could provide a cave that only the Humbug can get into

The tank is 4ft by 2ft and I have a cave in which the humbug can only fit in,but when he does come out that's when he gets bullied. So I'm worried that he is not eating much

hello, im also in need of a little advice, i'm relatively new to fish keeping. i was wondering if i would be able to house a common pleco in the same tank as a bn pleco without any problems. This might sound like a silly question but i just don't want to buy the fish and then have problems with aggression etc.

Any help is appreciated! :)

Kershyy - a common & a bristlenose should be fine together

Hi Kershyy,

You mentioned that you're relatively new to the hobby, so I have a question for you. Are you aware that "common plecos" can easily reach over 12 inches in total length by the time they're full grown, but the typical BN pleco will only reach about half that size when full grown? I mention this not for aggression reasons, but because a lot of new fish keepers get a common pleco unaware of just how big they will get, and then after a year or two, the pleco outgrows the aquarium. How big is your aquarium?

Cheers, Eric
