I have a young red tail catfish, about a foot or so long, well he decided to 0swallow the bottom piece to my heater. I thought he may just be bloated or constipated but 2 days after no food with no change warranted further investigation and realized the ball to the bottom of the heater was gone. What can i do? Will he throw it up? Die? I considered holding him and trying to take it out but it may be to far down now
please help

Re: Red tail catfish swallowed object
This is honestly the most helpful thing i can think of...
Depending on size of the catfish you might need to use tweezers instead of your hand.

Hopefully somebody with more experience chimes in.
Good luck!

I can stop keeping catfish whenever I want. I just don't think I'll ever want to do that...

If he does not throw it up, you can indeed try to get it out manually. If interested, I can provide relevant links.
If the part passes into the intestine, the fish will die for sure.
