Sex my L025

Post by Orinocensis1 »

Hi everyone I would like to know your thoughts on my L025. All I have are over view shots for now. I couldn't get a pic of my 5th one, it wouldn't come out of the cave but I managed to get a pic of 4. None have a outstanding amount of "hair" on pectoral fins. But number 4 has the most of of them all so I'm guessing he is male.

Scarlet's are very difficult to sex. The 2 of mine that paired up and spawned everyone who saw them were certain both were male.
Almost 3,000 gallons solely for raising and breeding Pseudacanthicus.
Spawned to date: L25, L65, L97, L114, L160, L185, L427, LDA07 and P. leopardus (L600).

Yes I 100% agree with you. I'm having such a difficult time trying to sex them. I guess both had lots of hair on pectoral fins? Head shape looks almost identical on all of mine to.. Maybe slight differences but not sure if it's a sign of different sexes or not. Did you do anything special to get them to spawn?

That would be an understatement...
