Re: Hydrometer bubble
The only solution is to replace it.
The line is broken and therefore the temperature will not kind of accurately de shown.

I agree with Bas Pels - Throw it away and get a new thermometer. That said, if you want to try something that I've seen work, maybe only once, is chill the thermometer so that all the fluid is drawn back into the bottom bulb. When it worked before, the fluid all withdrew into the bulb and the trapped spaces coalesced into a single space above the fluid. Then, as the thermometer warmed, the fluid formed a single column.Bas Pels wrote: 04 Sep 2022, 21:55The only solution is to replace it.

No guarantees it'll work. And frankly, thermometers are cheap enough that wasting time trying to fix them is in my opinion not worth the trouble.
Cheers, Eric

Re: Hydrometer bubble
Centrifugal force will fix it. If you can't "flick it back" by hand then securely tape perpendicularly to a drill bit in a variable speed drill.

Re: Hydrometer bubble
Thank you all. First I will try the centrifuge technique, then the freezer. I have heard of the freezer trick Eric but this will be the first time I try it myself.
