Hello all, I have the opportunity to buy a group of 8 wild caught l397s for a good price. I'd be interested in breeding them but the seller says he got them as juvies and had them for at least 4 years. Is there a rough estimate of how long they're fertile and/or when their fertility starts dropping?
Thanks
Seb

Hi seb47,
I bought captive-bred juvies in 2016. Their first spawn was in 2017. They're still spawning, if that's any help.
Good luck!
Eric

I have 2 groups of L397's...... one I got as juvies in 2018 the others were adults, I got in 2019 so no idea how old they are. Both still spawn often. My oldest plec I still have are L174 and Peckoltia zwerg I got in 2004 and 2005. Both still breed and produce fry.....
