Some photos from last week's trip. HH, or anyone else, want to try some IDs?

Above photo was taken at the fish market in Tapachula. The photos are bad, but so were the photographic conditions. The merchant claimed this was a river catfish, but he could have meant from an estuary.

An ariid showing the nuchal shield. Felt like sandpaper to the touch.

Rio Suchiate that forms the border between Mexico and Guatemala. Guatemala is on the left and Mexico the right. The bridge in the background is the official crossing. Note the amount of people and commerce moving freely across the river.

These are the same fish, I believe. This would be Hexanematichthys guatemalensis.
