Hi, I'm interested in getting a golden nugget pleco. I have a 29 gallon tank.
I want to keep cichlids.
Will this work out? I've heard these nuggets can get pretty big and that they are agressive towards other plecos.

a 29 gallon tank would only be a temporary home for nugget. they do quite slowly though. when they reach over a foot long, they will need a tank of over 100 gallons.
i've noticed mine is a bit more pugnacious than the other plecos, but not considerably so, if given space and hiding places.
as for cichlids, it depends which ones. they should be fine with most south american and african riverine cichlids, but not rift valley cichlids, as the water required will be too hard and alkaline.
here's the cat-elog info plus the catfish of the month article....

hundreds, just browse the cat-elog (in the purple nav bar at the top of the screen) under family, Loricariidae or under L & LDA numbers.
genera such as Panaqolus (small Panaque), Hypancistrus, Peckoltia and Ancistrus are best for your tank, as they generally don't get larger that 4"-5"
