All,

If you are in the vicinity of Detroit, MI. This is your last chance to see this 100 year old gem. The City of Detroit thinks it is doing a wonderful thing by closing these doors of the Belle Isle in the next month. Freinds of the Belle Isle Aquarium (FOBIA) are trying to raise money to keep it going. After seeing the national aquarium in Baltimore, this aquarium had more variety of hard to find fish. Toledo Zoo might have had more!

Alas, the Mayor of Detroit and his Cronies have taken this gem away from us.

Please note that the National Aquarium might have had more stingrays and sharks , but this had a decent variety of fish that I wouldn't want in my own tanks at home..too large etc...

But if you ever come too south-western Germany you sould take one day or two to have a look at the Wilhelma Stuttgart. There you will find many lovely aquarium`s. Some of them you can "reanacct" and some you can only dream of. For those how likes "Palludarien" there is the "Amazonas-Haus" for there dreams.
