name this pleco

Post by cinn »

Hi! I have a plecostomus that was sold to me as a "candystripe". However, since it has grown a bit, I am hesitant to accept that naming. I belong to the Iowa Aquaria Association, and we were discussing this guy and several people mentioned the forum here. This is a link to the thread: http://www.iowaaquaria.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3739
and includes a picture of the guy I am talking about. Any help would be appreciated. :?:

It's similar with L147 but like Steve are mention is not impossible to be L387 because it seams to have to thick first hard ray in the pectoral fins to be L147 at that size...more pics would be very interesting.

Here is peckoltia L387 Image

It could quite possibly be the fish in question although the spots don't go as far down the body. The base colour seems to be correct.Which ever it is it's a beautiful pleco

That definately isn't a "candystripe" pleco.
It looks a lot like my L147, but the colour is really beautiful. It would be nice if you have some pics of it's side, especially it's tail.
