LDA33 spots turned yellow over time?

Post by JonSayers »

My water was yellow due the the bogwood I've had in there, i finally got some resin about a month ago and now the water is perfectly clear. My LDA33's spots seem yellow, now I've just got a new LDA33 in the same tank and it really shows the difference. Will the colour return or is there something I can put in for him to eat to help? Is it the water that has change the colour?

Pics of the new one was taken just after he was put into the tank, hence why he looks paler.

Mine are doing the same. Not sure if it's age or diet. I feed a lot of green and yellow squash.

I feed a lot of courgette, some sweet potato and sometimes cucumber if I can't get courgette along with Spiralina tablets and some other catfish chips and ofcourse bloodworm for the tank.

re: send - thanks. It took me ages to find in the UK. It's Tahitian Moon Sand. A lot more common in the US especially with Malawi tanks. Was more expensive than normal sand but I think it was worth it. I've got an actini light in there give the tank a blue colour, the plecs seem to like it as it's slightly dimmer than the old lights I have. They both are always out.
