Can you please let us know what the length is of this fish? Judging from the pics that you posted it appears way to big to be an LDA08... I personally don't think it looks like one... at all.

Your fish looks like it could be A. triradiatus at first glance but I could not be for sure....

Is your LFS able to know where the fish in question came from? With the hundreds of ancistrus sp. it is sometimes difficult if not impossible to pinpoint without a collection point. It does remind me with the patterning you spoke of ancistrus sp.1 as well... one would think that the LFS would know if it was buying something such as an LDA08 and wouldn't sell it as a common... besides the fact you don't normally see LDA08 in the stores.
