Horabagrus nigricollaris

Post by Catfish Joe »

Seeking information on this species. How big do they get? What kind of temperament? Are they suitable tankmates for CA cichlids? Are they readily available? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Great - thanks. That was very helpful actually... Anybody have any personal experience with them? I don't think I've ever seen them at the LFS.

I've kept a couple before, and their requirements are pretty much like the much more common sun cat (<i>Horabagrus brachysoma</i>).
The reason they're not common is because they are found only in Kerala (in southwestern India) and have not yet been commercially bred (unlike sun cats).

Well, that would explain why I haven't seen them. Thanks!
