KMZ files?

Post by MatsP »

Jools,

I remember this thread on making maps of species.

I presume that the format for this is different now... Is it still available in the Cat-eLog?

Would it make sense to add fields for coordinates of the Type Locality in the Cat-eLog to more easily make use of those [where available]?

Mats,

I know how to do this but it's a lot of development time and work. When I was in NYC I met up with Rusty and Dinyar. Rusty did say he'd work on it and I've given him the "spec" but I don't think it's a priority for him to do.

It would be a good starter project for someone trying their hand at PHP - fancy giving it a try?

As long as there's no strict time-limit for the project, may be something I could do... I have some understanding of basic programming technique, as you know. ;-)

OK, we will take this offline from the forum and I'll move this to resolved as the original topic is still around.
