The musical references are great; don't abandon them!!

I've found out how to paste the list into a post, yet I can't edit the list which makes pasting a silly thing. Anyone pls fill me in with a "how to edit"

Next fish:

1) People think I look like a mammal
2) Even my species name refers to a female mammal

Sorry, you can't edit it.. I had to stick it on my own website so we wouldn't use up a whole page each time the list was posted. Couldn't think of a better idea but I'm open to any if. If it's ever behind it's usually only by one fish and only a few hours. I put the pasting code at the bottom of the list. You guys will just have to wait for the Iron Madtom to wake from her beauty sleep, 'cos you don't wanna see me after an ugly sleep

I didn't even know that WAS a musical reference  anything from Iron Maiden after or Bach and before is good for me - those in between bits are iffy!

Here's another shot:

Pimele = fat
Commonly = most common Pimelodus species
Loose antennae = long barbels that act as if unrestraint

All inaccurate, but all quite close. Think wider with "loose antennae" you devils!

If so, I bet it's about a cross/hybrid and I think it must be , made of Phractocephalus and Pangasius. What other use for this one than for food?

Sorry, it's not about food fish. That clue was around another food often made from duck liver for example but you can make it from many other things - it's nice on toast.

Nope, the "devil" clue applies to the first name, as does the very first clue, "loose" and also the "antennae" clue applies to the second part of the first name. The other clue, which is to the species name, is a food that can be eaten on toast.

Argh! That must be it! I got the hint - wrong genus, wrong species - so I've been looking through the pim family list for ages but I thought "you devils" was just a Joolism
Maybe a clue should have been "revolting on toast" :-X Coming from a country that eats whale and seals, I should shut up...

Haven't tried the whale or seal and when I found out what prairie oysters were, I know I'll never try them either. Grade A Alberta beef for me but not the, um, personal, grade A bits  I'd rather try Pate or even hagus...

Back to the fish...

I already have a new riddle, but will wait for Jools' approval.

Etymology part of data sheet should be completed btw. The current text only refers to the species name.

Haggis tastes quite good; just try to forget what's in it :D

Agreed and can't wait - good clues result when you can stew on a fish for a while. Still hungry apparently...fish + stew.

I'll try the Haggis if you'll try the Prairie oysters. Especially now that I know how to spell haggis correctly  thank you.
