I was wondering if anyone had seen anything like this lump in the mouth of my hoplo, it appeared several days ago and hasnt got any larger or smaller. the fish has not changed his eating habits but is distressed by it (shaking head, scraping against rocks). On closer inspection it is very hard and has a red dot in the center.

It looks like lymphocystis. Search the forums and see if that matches.

Thankyou for the disease name, although it looks very similar, the virus seems to look a little more external than this growth. It seems more like a small hard circular lump with a small red hole in the center, almost like something has been embedded, I was thinking more along the lines of a parasite, infection or injury.

I was hoping there was no known parasites that did this kind of thing that yo-yo's might pass on.
