cory shwartzi

Post by flash »

hi all
last year at auction i bought a group of young corys they were very small and as they grew they turned out to be 4 males and 3 females. the males have all reaced almost 2 inch in length .the males have also grown very tall dorsals
i have seen this kind of tall fin in concolour and in wild paleatus .but never in shwartzi is this normal?
cheers flash

I am by no means an expert but I am trying to learn as much as I can as fast as I can. I am aware that there is a C cf schwartz1 that has been discovered and is being traded as schwartzi and that this has long dorsal fins. If you are able to get hold of Ian Fullers book on identifying corydoras there is a nice picture. The true schwartzi dont have extended dorsals but this variant does. Hope this helps
Ian will be able to clarify more

Without actually seeing a picture it is difficult to say what the species is as there are a few that look similar to C. schwartzi.
