South American Catfish

I am looking for easily obtained south american cat fish that can be kept within a 50 gallon aquarium, and that are compatible with smaller fish. I have been looking at the common banjo catfish as one of the catfish that I would like to purchase. Are they good with smaller community fish?

I don't think banjos are a problem. They don't move much and stay hidden during the day.
