walking catfish

Post by mixixe »

Hi everyone,

I have a 9 inch walking catfish in a 75 gallon tank by itself right now and i was wondering if there any suitable tank mates aside from Oscars, and if Bichirs would be good?
Or should i just keep it alone?
Anyone know?

I would keep it alone. They don't like tank mates much.

if you feed it well and make a few good hiding places you can add similarsized Walking catfishes though.

they're territorial, but not as bad as medium big Pimelodids (like Leiarius and the like). Clarias can be kept in groups.

What's considered feeding well? I feed him twice a day. Before he was in the tank with an oscar, and they had no problems, all of a sudden he started to attack the oscar at night when I moved them to a bigger tank. So now I've separated them. :(
