Megalodoras irwini

Post by Tom »

Does anyone keep these now or in past? Is a 180 gal. too small to grow up 3-4 of these?

At a full-grown size of 28", I'd say a 180-gallon might be too small for a single Megalodoras uranoscopus (note the correct name), let alone 3 or 4.

they are fairly slow growing fish, so your 180 would be okay for quite a while, and they are not particularly active either. However, consider moving a 15" plus specimen .. watch your fingers.

I have one at the moment that is growing about 1/2" per month, he's in a 280g eats anything, although i rarely see him as there are plenty of hiduing places.
