Sturisoma nigrirostrum?

Post by brianl999 »

Hello all

I bought two of these fish a few months ago, they were labelled as 'Royal Farlowella'.

Here's a link to a pic of one of them:

Is it a Sturisoma nigrirostrum? He's currently about 5" long or so...

Thanks,

Brian

Could be nigrirostrum. To be sure, look to the underside of the rostrum: it should be black.

OK, it's not black...

Is there a specific area I should be photographing for positive id?

Thanks,

Looks like a young specimen of the long-finned sp typically sold as S. "festivum."
