Got this pic sent into the site from an English importer. Any ideas at all - I have not seen anything like this before. It appears to be a similar shape to Trachelyopterichthys taeniatus.

I checked with Carl Ferraris and Carl tells me that this is most likely a Glanidium species, though he's never seen one of this size or color.

That's certainly a very distinctive caudal fin. I wonder if the colouration will change. Anyway I have asked the importer for more info. or pics.

Lots of male Tatia and Glanidium cuadal fins grow like that, but not quite to that extreme. The growth difference between the top and bottom lobes of the caudal does appear to increase with age.

The ten year old T. galaxias I have a quite dramatic, the T. intermedia I got four years ago are to a much lesser extent.

Where can I get one? Or ten!

Sincerely,
Paul E. Turley
