L21/23 Question

Post by MrGT500 »

my common pleco is about 9 inchels long, his tank doesnt have any caves in it for him to hid in, but he seems perfectly content to hang on to the glass all day and hide himself behind the filter intake. do you think he is as content hiding there? or would a cave make him happy? he is pretty shy, so i like that i can look at him where he hides now. he is bigger than everything else in that tank and nothing bothers him while he sleeps the day off. at night he cruises and somtimes blasts around the tank (29 gallon)

he is my favorite fish and when i got him he was only an inch or so long. any thoughts?

after adding an emporor 280 to the existing 400, the water is crystal clear, he makes an insane mess.

I think a cave would be a good idea. Plecos like somewhere to hide. A plastic or clay pipe is ideal.

A 29g tank is very small for this fish. It's outgrown that tank quite some time ago, when it reached about 6-7". It will eventually need a tank that is at least 6ft x 2.5-3ft base and at least 2ft tall.
