Shy Four line
Hello I recently replaced my rapheal catfish with a four line pictus. I've had it about a mounth now and he hides constantly. Everything i've heard about them says verry active and not shy at all. Is there something wrong with him?

The thing with is that they are a social fish...it probably will get braver but they do much better in numbers.

In addition, it is an age thing. Mature fish are far more confident, almost never skittish and almost never hide. Dither fish may help too.
I've had various groups of these fish for years and I would never say they are not shy at all. Even in large groups of their own, as well as brothers, and cousins, mine hid a lot when they were young.
Very active? Yes. When it comes to snatching food with lightning speed and in general behaving like you are high... a freaky, nervous, trembling, twitchy wreck...
