Old thread, and this might sound strange, but are you feeding him any New Life Spectrum products like New Life Spectrum H2O Stable Wafers? How he looks today?

Okay, so it just may be a individual difference or different birth location. One (here in Finland) L190 turned dark after eating NLS and later lighten up again after no NLS. Other "members" of ordered L190 group didnt have this phenomenon, but we will really never know the real cause.

I have one that looks like Rob's. For years it had the typical colouration, a bit on the dull side, and then had brief period when it went yellow, and now is back to normal; dull overall with little contrast between line pattern and base colour.

His yellow phase. I refer to it as the ghost.

And now, the guy at the bottom of the frame.
