Patchy white fungus

Post by Jana »

Two of my three Panda's have developed a patchy white fungus on their bodies. Water parameters are A=0, Ni=0 and Na=10. Temp is 78. I also have six danios & four c. trilineatus. All of them seem ok.

My lfs suggested Neomycin and that is what I am using but I've never seen this suggested for cories. It this an ok med or should I treat w/Kanamycin or something else???? I hate to stress out the other fish but it's contagious isn't it??

I seemed to be doomed when it comes to cories................ :(

Fungus is opportunistic, so it's not necessarily contagious. There will always be fungal spores in your water, but they infect fishes only when the immune system of the fishes are weakened by some other cause (e.g. a bacterial/viral infection, bad water, etc.).
