I would put him in nothing smaller than a 20 US gallon tank.

with a 4"adult fish, I would tend tothink a 48"tank would be best.

Thanks, guys. I don't really have space for anything larger than a 30" or 36" long at the moment (and if I kept schultzi I would want a group, so that means an even bigger tank), so I'll look for a different species.

As a strict rule 4x2L footprint tank (L is the size of the adult fish) so a 4 inch fish should be fine in a group in a 30-36" tank

True, but seeing as how they feed (like little sharks :-p ), I think that a trio or quartet would appreciate some extra space, which I can't provide at the moment. I think I'll try for C. perugiae, or maybe C. reticulatus.
