ID - Doradidae > M. uranoscopus?

Post by tomat0 »

The only info I could get is that it's from South America (according to LFS owner). It does resemble M. uranoscopus, but I'm just coming back into the hobby and my fish bank needs refreshment. :(

Could anyone help ID this cat? Much appreciated! :d

I am not 100% sure from the photo but the adipose fin looks a bit too elongated for . I think this might be a baby .

Can you please snap some more pics? Is the blurry fish in the back on the right of the same kind?

The shape of the head makes it more likely that it is Pterodoras.

I'll try to get more pictures. Sorry for the lack of. I took several but this was the best and clearest.
It was difficult getting one at all! They wouldn't stop swimming.

Viktor: Yes, that's also the same species. Only them and the plecos in the tank.
