Observations on BNs and black hair algae

Post by NCE12940 »

This might not be news to anybody else but I found it interesting - from watching 4 spawns now in the tank, it appears that they aren’t able physically to eat it. The babies try, and work at it quite diligently, before giving up. The juveniles and adults just sucker over it and don’t try to eat it. So it appears to me to be a learned behavior rather than instinctive or just not liking the taste of that algae.
