Have you encountered cases of gulper catfish cannibalism?

What have you experienced?

What have you read / heard?

This is the first time I hear of gulper eating a gulper. Do you believe the poster or not? (never mind the poster's practices)

I am feeling sorry for all three of us and the future viewers of those videos. Plus, I don't think the big one really ate the smaller one, what can be seen on the video is the typical intraspecific behaviour and not a sign of aggression. Since the guy seems to be omnipresent with his phone, whenever he introduces a new feeder fish, I doubt he missed out on that one scene. Another being who is discrediting the hobby.

cheers

Yeah, should be reported to YouTube. This stuff is cannon fodder for certain anti fishkeeping groups.

Thank you Daniel, you make a lot of sense. As do some of our peers on the MFK sister thread. https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/foru ... sm.756233/

As for this dude's harmful practices, there are thousands like him of not more out there and they are on other platforms, not only YT. We just spoke about the guy who buys exotics and pretend catches them.
He's got millions of faithful followers. This dude has 0.5 million. I think it'd be fighting windmills. But I really don't want this thread to be about that.

I would value your thoughts on this aspect though. So if there was interest to talk it out, I would happily start another thread on this topic.

My UK peer Aaron Fiddy from YT, on whose behalf I had asked the title question, after all combined his 6" and 4" gulpers and reports that all is well. He had tried it before and freaked out when the bigger quickly started mouthing the smaller and rushed to rip the smaller out of the mouth of the bigger (I had told him before though that I didn't expect this to proceed beyond the mouthing). For the 2nd recombine Aaron has mustered his strength and so far it's worked out.
