L/LDA number resource doesn't work with Firefox.

Post by Mike_Noren »

I just noticed that the buttons at the top of the L & LDA number resource page does not work with Mozilla Firefox, only with Microsoft Internet Explorer, so with Firefox there's no way to get to the next page.

Perhaps the button bar could be replaced (or complemented) with normal clickable links/buttons?

I have Firefox as well (microsoft is a disease, use it as little as possible  ) and no problems.

you DID install Java separately? otherwise a lot of buttons on this site won't be there anyway.

Mike,

I too use Mozilla exclusively, and the buttons work fine. Sid is right, you probably have a bad/incomplete java installation. You can get the required files from http://www.java.com

I have full SUN java installed, but have disabled java for security reasons. Javascript is running though.

IMHO it might still be a good idea to change the navigational structure.

Way ahead of you there. Jools is in the process of replacing the java frames with DHTML menus. These should be less resource intensive and compatible w/ more browsers.

Mike, does the purple site wide nav bar work? It's odd if this works and the ICOSA pages don't as they use the same applet. You could use the new l-number pages that are in BETA testing, access them from the main cat-elog page.

As Rusty says, the java applet navigation we've used for a good few years now is in teh sunset of its lifespan.
