Shell dwelling catfish

Post by Birger »

I found something online once about a catfish, living as an inquiline(think I used this right) in Lanistes shells along with M.livingstonii in Lake Malawi does anyone know anything about this, or where there would be more imformation on shell dwelling catfish if there is such a thing from this lake or Lake Tanganyika, cichlids can do it surely a catfish was in there first :)

This has been on my mind for a while and I will be over there in a few months and am trying to check this out before I start looking in every shell I see.

The original description of Pseudotropheus lanisticola mentions the presence of Leptoglanis as an inquiline in the shells.
