Breeding This species has been bred in the aquarium, however, it is unusual. There is a detailed article in the Catfish Study Group Journal, Volume 21, Issue 3 (Sept 2020) by Regina Spotti. The spawning occurred at a low pH of 4.1 and around 77F following a rise in temperature. The fry proved to be extremely difficult to raise.
