Pronunciation	kor ee doh rass (lineage eight subclade one). - BRITT ski eye
Etymology	Cory = helmet, doras = skin. In this case it was incorrectly used to mean armour (cuirasse) instead of skin in allusion to the dual rows of plates that run along the flanks of this genus. This species was named in honour of Dr. Heraldo A. Britski, the Brazilian ichthyologist.
Species Information
Size	88mm or 3.5" SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp.
Identification	Commonly referred to by the currently synonymised genus Brochis, this sub-clade can be distinguished from other corydoradine species by the fact that they have more than 10 rays in the dorsal fin, whilst all other members of the Corydoradinae have seven rays. Differs from C. multiradiatus by lack of hog-like snout and from C. splendens by a larger number of dorsal fin rays. C. britskii also has a bony plate / shield that covers the white part of the underside of the head, this characteristic is absent in other related fishes.
Sexing	Undocumented, although it is presumed mature females are larger and fuller when carrying eggs.

Other Parameters	Reported from weed-choked rivers, so water current should be minimal and water on the slightly soft side. Prefers deeper water.
Husbandry Information
Feeding	A fish that likes to dig around for food, but will eat all prepared foods that find their way to the substrate. Live bloodworms or tubifex are especially relished. User data.
Furniture	Open spaces of substrate and rock or wood refuges slightly elevated to provide the shade these fish like to rest under in rare moments of inactivity.
Compatibility	A gregarious but good shoaling fish for the larger community tank.
Suggested Tankmates	Can be kept with most fish. More suitable for keeping with loaches than Corydoras as their larger size helps them compete better for food. Boisterous enough to be kept with more dynamic aquaria.
Breeding	Unreported although thought to be the same as Corydoras.
