If you ditch the front, and stick to gentle-mannered species like calvus, there are some more species available, such as the Lophiobagrus species and the extremely pretty Phyllonemus typus. both do fine with any Synodontis species. Although not as visible, their very different outlook and reddish co...

they turn up now and then, but usually at 50â?¬ or so (wich is about 36 pounds if I'm not mistaken...)

good choice, I find them very beautiful, with only two drawbacks:
-very, very nocturnal
-fragile! prone to gillworms, gutworms, bacteria etc

The long snout and long dorsal make pretty sure, it's Brochis.

But the Brochis-species look pretty much alike. To choose between them, you need a clear pic and count the rays of the dorsal fin.

Spotted Raphaels are very docile. They MIGHT be able to tackle small fish, but rarely do. Pectorale has several Dorads, and in his smaller tank (a 250 liter tank) there's 1 Spotted Raphael (Agamyxis pectinifrons) about 10 cm or so, and also a whole colony of Limia nigrofasciata, that's rapidly multi...
