Thank you both for your replies!
At the store i stumbled upon another cichlid i caught a liking too and decided to go for that one. It's adult size is smaller than the Orange head which i only see as positive. The species name is Biotodoma Cupido. I got a group of 8, the largest one is about 7 cm ...

Will this company work for my S. Festivum and L181
Hi!
My wife believes our display tank in the living room is too ''dead''. The scape is beautiful but there's nothing happening except the S. Festivum, in her opinion.
We have both took a liking to the cichlid Geophagus sp Orange head tapajos. So my question to you guys are the following.

Re: L075, Something wrong with coloration or different species?
Hi Dave,
I read that, but at the same time in Shane's article on breeding the species he states that they should be fed a mainly vegetarian diet. So it would be nice to hear from someone else who's kept this species and to hear if it is possible to keep them on a meaty diet. Have you kept them ...

Re: L075, Something wrong with coloration or different species?
Hi Chuck,
You are right, after looking at L147 and all 4 of my new ''L075'', they are definitely L147 and not L075.
The exporters in colombia must have either mistaken the species or misnamed them. And that their caught in Venezuela also fits the L147, even if it fits L075 too.
Do you know if ...

L075, Something wrong with coloration or different species?
Hi!
Today i picked up 4 L075 for my new breeding project tank. 2 of them are larger, approx 12+cm and 2 of them smaller, ca 8-10 cm. Both larger ones have a beautiful pattern/coloration, even if i think it could get better after they really get to settle in. The smaller ones however are very drab ...

Re: What is this Orinoco/Ventuari pleco?
Hi again,
Ok. So my male has 2-3 CM to go and the female (Pictured fish) has about 5 centimeters left to grow?
Do you have any clue at what size they become sexually mature? Cause the fish in the picture seems to be gravid.
Best regards,
Fabian

Re: What is this Orinoco/Ventuari pleco?
Hi again, Thank you all for all the help! Truly amazing!
It surely does look like 243, but it says here on the site that the species only reaches 10 cm. Both my fish are guaranteed over that size. Is the info card for the species wrong?
Are my individuals also completely full grown?
Thank again!

What is this Orinoco/Ventuari pleco?
Hi!
My local fish importer imported Catfish home from Colombia a while back. Mainly L091, L200 and Hypancistrus Contradens. The company he buys from get the fish themselves and when they we're out collecting his 20+ cm L200's (Hemiancistrus Subviridis), they got another fish caught. They asked him ...

Re: L340 Spawn, need help!
Sad news, woke up, went to the fish room and the breeder box were empty. The reseller used this specific box for his pleco breeding projects, they must have somehow been able to fit between the bottom tray and the grills that let water in. Sad, i guess they won't survive in the tank since there are ...

Re: L340 Spawn, need help!
Ok after reading i decided to move the cave with the fry inside it back to its original spot in the aquarium. The male is still in another cave with another adult L340. I'm a bit worried for the fry, they're moving in there but the Sturisoma Festivum is circling the cave, do you think they could ...

Hi guys and thanks for all the great input!
Some surprising and sad news today and i probably made a bad decision before i went in here.
When i came home (an hour ago) i shined my torch into the cave. I can't say they're trained for it but i do this daily, have for several months (maybe thats why ...

For the first time i got one of my plecos to breed, super happy about it. It's the L340 and i need advise on how to care for the fry. I have a tank which i grow out guppy fry until they can go to the main guppy tank and it's currently unoccupied, however it's only 30L and i don't know if that ...

Re: 300L - Can i keep these plecos together?
Hey Carlo and thanks for your response.
I agree with you, they probably won't be able to live quite good when they reach adulthood and start packing on size. I will go with this for now, see how it works and if it's not any aggression problems between the two species/within them because of lack of ...

Hi!
I have a 300L 100x60x50 ''Rio Meta biotope tank'' and i'm wondering if it's possible to keep the following species together.
L200 Hemiancistrus subviridis 6 individuals - smallest at 9 cm and largest at 15cm.
