Re: True WC Synodontis Longirostris????

I've heard that they are quite aggressive towards other synos. Is it true? Is it likely to rip fin filaments of Synodontis decorus?

Re: Are all L-95 (Pseudorinelepis) avaliable all male?

Thanks. IIRC it seems that it is possible now if not Pterygoplichthys and co., but not sure yet. The process to get permit may be rather long though.

I am aware that Rhinelepis and co. are broadcasters, but is there any sexual dimorphism? Are male and female supposed to be similar? By beigh ...

Re: Leptodoras in captivity?

Thanks for the suggestion.
No, I've seen them in the shop only but they are relatively small and look like only a few are left in the shop [probably died off].

All my Scobins (L-14, L-48 and probably L-253) tear sponge filters and leave small pieces on gravel on the floor... I do not know do they ingest the sponge, eat stuffs on the sponge, or tear the sponge just for fun. I guess they may be able to rasp on acrylic it they want to.

L-48 seems to be from Xingu, so S. pariolispos may be just the L-362 and L-368 if there is any real difference between them. That doesn't help id the fish in question though, since white/light yellow or light orange spots version of juv L-48 seems ...

Thanks. So L-24 size is similar to leopardus and scarlet, and the orange-brown individuals is just a particularly nice ones. Then it is still bigger than sunshine so I think it is not a good idea to keep them together in the long run.

Question about L-24 and scarlet

1] I've seen pic of orange L-24 in the recent Aqualife magazine [Japan]. There are also many pics of particulary reddish scarlet. Are such fish just premium individuals vs more normal ones? Or is there age/sex/location difference in coloration?

2] When L-24 grows up into adult would it be fine to ...

So is it confirmed that adonis is captive bred? I wonder since there are quite a few albinos around in the more recent times.

About adonis: how large would it eventually get, does it lose all white spots as adult, and are they also found in stillwater muddy pool as well as in rivers?

In this case just at what size do males start to turn gold?
