I have approx 18" giraffe catfish free to anyone who would like him. He is very healthy and quiet and lives with rays and arowana and knife fish. My rays are showing signs of breeding and need more room in the tank so will have to re-home him.

yes i think the poor first try etc may be it...the older female who was the first to spawn had 2 lots of eggs at the top of the barnicle and at the bottom so there was lots the other have just been a few at the top..i guess they will bet better with age lol...i may put the two oldest in the baby ...

yes the male goes with the eggs as he doesnt come out of the shell and he fanns constant until they are all out...for days after as well...he seems to be a good dad but i say hes old he is still fairly young for a dad...he has large bristles though and seems to be a caring dad to the young...maybe ...

thanks for your reply. No the eggs are laid but it is the older male that always tends to them the other male doest realy bother as its the older males shell and the younger male darnt go there !!!! the older one would not be amused. I think maybe she may go in there like you said when the male isnt ...

Hello well zebadee is still hiding and hasnt moved as far as i can see. I leave a low light on when i can and leave him algie wafers by his cave but havent seen him move yet. Yes thanks i may try that. I am trying to keep a close eye on him but he is so well hidden i cant see him at the mo and dont want to scare him by making him come out. Thankyou for your advice I will certainly look it up. I test for amonia and nitrite everyday at the mo to check the levels and they are fine and i am doing a water change every other day of 10%. I have a 90 gallon tank in my living room thats my husbands tank..so we are quite up on keeping things in ...
