Salinity and syno multi

Hi, I have a syno multi who currently resides in my malawi mbuna tank, but my question is: will this species tolerate a salinity of up to 10ppt/1.005 (max)?
My guess is probably not, but I've read lots of conflicting reports about things online (always the problem with anecdotal stuff!). Has anyone ...

I think the angelicus is out purely b/c I read it grows upwards of 21" :O
