Salinity and syno multi

Post by coldmachineUK »

Hi, I have a syno multi who currently resides in my malawi mbuna tank, but my question is: will this species tolerate a salinity of up to 10ppt/1.005 (max)?
My guess is probably not, but I've read lots of conflicting reports about things online (always the problem with anecdotal stuff!). Has anyone tried this successfully?

TIA!

I have used salt for years in my Malawi tank and my multis weren't bothered at all. However, don't add it to the water straight from the sack/packet/whatever. Let the salt solve in water before adding it to your tank.
