Mats,
I am quite pleased as after a few hours work, I think I have nailed all the various issues here. I've now fixed this in two ways.
a) The data submission and subsequent vetting processes now properly escape special characters and HTML entities. There's a little bit of work left to do, but it is more concerned with the other "differences when submitting a data sheet change" issue raised elsewhere and so I will look into it there.
b) Reload a page with escaped characters in it and it will "clean them up" on the database. I have coded this in the type locality, furniture and compatibility fields for now. If anyone notices any other stray characters (things like \' \n \r\n and the like) in other fields then PLEASE post the species and field here and I will fix it.
Cheers,
Jools
