Odd ID request!!

Post by anectine17 »

Help!! I'm new here, so if I'm in the wrong forum, please kick me to the correct one. I have a 20 gallon tank with about a dozen baby Bristlenose Plecos, and one adult male Bristlenose. The babies are about 5 months old, and are about an equal mix of browns and albinos. I'm waiting until I start seeing some mating/breeding behavior, and plan to thin them out (take them to the local FS) so I end up with a breeding pair/trio or two. Ok, now to the issue. I just this evening noticed, on the glass with the snails (I harvest the snails regularly and feed them to my Puffers)some funky, white worm looking critters....about and 1/8 to 1/4 inch long, somewhat active. I've attached the best pic I can get. What are they? Are they bad? Who can I put in there with the Plecos that'll eat the worm things? HELP!! Thanks in advance!!

Alden

These look like planarians, which are most likely the result of overfeeding (search the forums for this subject and you'll find lots of threads on these).

Yep.....that's them. I did a search...here and on Google and I'm sure that's what I've got. I'll do the suggested....water changes, cut back on feeding, new filter......Flubenol if that doesn't work. Thanks a bunch!
