substrates from other countries....Sand from Rio Xingu?

Here's my reply to "Sand from Rio Xingu?"thread via my own thread.

There is a chance that you can spread diseases or organisims via substrate such as Myxobolus cerebralis. I am not saying your fish can get this or that it exists in the Rio Xingu. Since exploration and scientific study is very limited in some areas of South America you don't know what you are bringing along.
