I am actually about a third of the way through this one and planned on reading some more of it over the upcoming holiday weekend. I guess we'll see who gets done first.

Thus far it's a very interesting read. Definately one to pick up if you have the chance.
Sincerely,

Paul,
Maybe we should write it together and your positive view will balance my negative one. Wait until you get to his failed experiments, bullshit story about a candiru swimming up someone's urine stream, and idea for a theme park called Candiru World.
This is pure bad science. He set out with a theory and tried like heck to prove it. When he could not, he found a single "documented" case and said it proved his theory. Never mind that every controlled experiment he did showed that candiru display a strong desire to GET AWAY from urine and are not attracted to it.

(PS guess that is my review in a nutshell).

Now I really am going to have to finish this thing this weekend. I'll admit, I am only through the background story and history sections of the book yet. Looks like I have some interesting reading ahead of me.

It seems that no one has written a review for the book, so I took it upon myself to finish reading my copy (prompted in part by the lack of reading material) and write a review (which I have already emailed to Jools).

Contrary to the sentiments above, I quite enjoyed reading the book (except for several places I disliked).

Review added, thanks Silurus. How much does the book cost (preferably in UKP)?

OK! A catfish that releases a trail of "urinea and ammonia from it's gills"! Saw something just as bassackwards on South Park once.
