Composing message bug

Post by Silurus »

When I compose a message in Safari and stop any activity for too long (about 1-2 minutes), the page refreshes and lose whatever I have typed (i.e. I return to a blank screen).

So, definately a lot longer than the search bug also reported?

Are you a member of any other phpbb2 forums and do they show the same bug?

Sorry about the questions, but not being able to test safari easily, it's a tricky one...

I've tested this a couple of times using exactly the same build of Safari that Silurus is using but I cannot replicate Silurus' problem. For me, Safari behaves exactly as it should. Similarly, I cannot replicate Silurus problem reported in the thread "Search bugs in Safari".

Thanks Dinyar, I wonder if the issues have the same root cause. Seems likely. I'll wait and see how the response to the other thread goes...

I tried this out on a mac yesterday night. There doesn't appear to be a problem. My mac using friend suggested a problem with add-on software within the browser like spellchers, ad or pop-up blockers and the like.

I guess it's just trial and error but I think it is your environment rather than a server/web page issue.

If you find out what, please post it as it would be useful to know.
